Staff Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Accountant based in United States.

The Staff Accountant plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s financial close process.
You will help ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and reflected in the general ledger.
The position has a strong focus on month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
You will work with financial data that requires accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail.

Accountabilities:
  • Support the financial close process by ensuring that financial transactions are recorded accurately and completely in the general ledger.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process, ensuring transactions are properly classified and supported.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial accounts.
  • Review financial information for completeness and accuracy and identify issues that may require correction or further investigation.
  • Contribute to timely and organized month-end accounting activities in accordance with established financial processes and deadlines.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting documentation and supporting records for journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the accounting and finance teams to resolve accounting questions and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the finance function.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of general ledger activities and financial close processes.
  • Knowledge of journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy when working with financial transactions and accounting records.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and support appropriate resolutions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring month-end responsibilities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with accounting and finance colleagues while also managing assigned responsibilities independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and discuss accounting information.
  • Proficiency with standard accounting and financial systems, as well as general productivity tools used in a professional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
