What to expect as an Nocturnist Hospitalist:

• Provide comprehensive overnight care for patients admitted to inpatient and swing bed services at Critical Access Hospital.
• Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care during night-time hours, working collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary services.
• Function with a high degree of autonomy and clinical expertise, supporting continuity of care, timely medical decision-making, and effective transition planning.
• Perform selected laboratory testing, referrals to physicians as needed.
• Write prescriptions, and performs procedures within the scope of expertise and protocols.
• Work with the Chief of Medicine and/or Emergency Room Physician in the care and treatment of patients and under the medical direction of a collaborative practice physician.

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP)
• National certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or equivalent
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS CPR certification
• State of Missouri nursing license
