Technician II - Networking

Job Summary:

As a Technician II - Structured cabling, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze (for correctness), and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations.

This role requires the ability and knowhow to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable ofadjustingor finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and service cabling infrastructure and devices for Data and Audio Visual andCCTV;includespre-wiring, installation, termination, labeling, testing and reporting per specifications and drawings.
  • Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms.
  • Understand, analyze and implement installation blueprints and plans to complete installations without supervision
  • Following BOM, and capable of reporting identified areas for adjustments to PM or site lead.
  • Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
  • Adhere to Bosch's Quality and Safety programs.
  • Complete detailed and accurate documentation, including OHS checks, packing slips, checklists, as-builts, test results.
  • You may be required to work "night shifts" when needed based on project/service requirements.
  • Consistently provide high levels of customer service.
  • Travel and overtime may be requested with this position on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in structured cabling installation & servicing.
  • Experience pulling, terminating and testing cat5/6 and fiber optic cables.
  • Experience installing other cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets,etc).
  • Experience installing other low voltage systems (CCTV, access control, AV, wireless, unified communication, nurse call, RTLS).
  • Post-secondary education in electrical, telecommunications, electronics, or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices.
  • Comfortable working at heights and must be able to lift upwards of 50 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Must be bondable and able to pass a background check.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, CFOT, Specific Manufacturer training) are a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
