Certification Body Integrity Assessor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Certification Body Integrity Assessor based in Brazil.

This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the credibility and consistency of an internationally recognized sustainability certification system. You will assess Certification Bodies to ensure full compliance with established standards, with a strong focus on quality management systems and audit integrity. The position involves both remote and on-site assessments across North and Latin America, requiring frequent travel and close collaboration with global teams. You will evaluate audit performance, review certification processes, and ensure alignment with ISO/IEC requirements and internal frameworks. The role is highly analytical and detail-oriented, combining technical auditing expertise with a strong ethical foundation. You will also contribute to improving system robustness by identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions. This is a mission-driven environment where integrity, independence, and sustainability are central to every activity.

Accountabilities
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate Integrity Assessments (on-site, remote, and desktop-based), including scheduling, logistics, and travel coordination in alignment with central teams.
  • Conduct Certification Body assessments across North and Latin America, ensuring compliance with applicable sustainability and certification standards.
  • Perform detailed reviews of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and evaluate conformity with ISO/IEC 17065 requirements and internal certification rules.
  • Execute witness assessments to evaluate auditor competence, performance, and adherence to established audit methodologies.
  • Analyze audit evidence, identify non-conformities, and ensure proper follow-up on corrective actions and closure of findings.
  • Prepare clear, structured, and evidence-based Integrity Assessment Reports and Certification Body evaluation documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of integrity frameworks, audit methodologies, and certification system effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in certification, auditing, conformity assessment, or quality management systems.
  • Mandatory experience in auditing or working within certification systems, with completed auditor or lead auditor training (preferably ISO 19011).
  • Strong expertise in ISO/IEC 17065 and Certification Body Quality Management Systems, including competence management and certification decision processes.
  • Proven experience conducting audits, desktop reviews, remote assessments, and on-site evaluations using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Ability to assess auditor performance and conduct witness audits is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent report-writing skills with the ability to document findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions in a clear and objective manner.
  • Strong understanding of global supply chains and complex organizational structures.
  • High integrity and independence, with no conflicts of interest (cannot simultaneously act as a Certification Body auditor).
  • Fluency in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese are strong advantages.
  • Based in North or Latin America with full willingness and availability to travel extensively across the region.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with a structured and independent working style.
  • Proficiency in standard IT tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work with flexible working hours
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Structured onboarding program for a smooth integration
  • Opportunity to collaborate with international sustainability and risk assessment experts
  • Exposure to global certification systems and sustainability initiatives
  • Strong autonomy with the ability to shape processes and contribute to system development
  • Professional growth opportunities through collaboration across specialized partner organizations
  • Inclusive and equal-opportunity working environment
