The Humanities Department of Maritime College, State University of New York is seeking applications for Adjunct Instructor positions in Composition and Rhetoric. The successful candidates will each teach sections of English 101: Freshman English and/or other Composition classes. We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in Technical/Business Writing, Writing for Engineers, and Digital Writing.



Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's in Composition and Rhetoric or Technical/Business Writing.

  • College Teaching Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Composition and Rhetoric or Technical/Business Writing.



Additional Information:

Classification/Salary Range: The Adjunct Lecturer is a non-tenure-track, part-time United University Professions (UUP) Position. For additional information, please see the Benefits At-A-Glance - UUP Part-time - SUNY.

Review of applications to commence immediately and will end when position is filled. Successful incumbent will start August 2026.

Special Notes: This is a part-time appointment UUP position. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
