Task Lead and Senior International SOF Support SME
Location: MacDill Air Force Base, Florida; CONUS/OCONUS temporary duty travel as required

Challenging Projects
As the Task Lead and Senior International SOF Support SME with JCTM, you will serve as the contractor’s primary point of contact for day-to-day performance supporting the USSOCOM Directorate of Operations, J3-International Division. You will oversee contractor personnel, schedules, travel, surge support, quality control, and transition activities while also providing senior-level international SOF expertise.
You will work closely with J3-I leadership, the Contracting Officer’s Representative, technical representatives, international officers, senior noncommissioned officers, Theater Special Operations Commands, and other SOF enterprise stakeholders. Your work will help J3-I integrate Allied and Partner Nation capabilities into operational planning, crisis response, capability development, and readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the contractor’s single point of contact for the management and administration of project tasks.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, staffing assignments, and performance priorities supporting the J3-I mission.
- Assign responsibilities to contractor personnel and monitor the timely completion of assigned work.
- Manage contractor travel, approved surge requirements, staffing actions, and transition activities.
- Perform quality reviews of contractor work products and ensure deliverables are accurate, complete, and responsive to Government requirements.
- Maintain continuous coordination with J3-I leadership, the Contracting Officer’s Representative, and designated technical representatives.
- Present interim results, identify performance concerns, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide advice, insights, and senior-level experience concerning international SOF support to all elements of J3-I.
- Assist J3-I leadership in managing the Division’s overall program of work in support of Commander USSOCOM objectives and priorities.
- Participate in and facilitate J3-I strategic planning activities.
- Support functional SMEs in maintaining timely and accurate global awareness.
- Assist with integrating Partner Nation SOF capabilities and organizations into plans, operations, crisis-response activities, capability development, and readiness events.
- Develop and maintain measures of performance and measures of success for J3-I activities.
- Mentor international SOF officers and senior noncommissioned officers on USSOCOM, its components, operational headquarters, and SOF culture when required.
- Perform facility close-out and escort duties in accordance with Division security procedures.
- Support CONUS and OCONUS travel requirements across the SOF enterprise.

You Have
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Service as a senior Army Special Forces officer at the O-5 level or above.
- At least 15 years of combined experience in operations and Partner Nation development at the O-6 command, Theater Special Operations Command, or NATO SOF headquarters level.
- A master’s degree in international relations or a related field.
- Graduation from the School of Advanced Military Studies or an equivalent advanced military planning course.
- At least one year of recent combat or operational experience within the last five years as part of a combined joint special operations task force or Theater Special Operations Command staff.
- At least one year of experience working with coalition SOF partners.
- Graduation from Joint Professional Military Education Level II or an equivalent program.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing complex operational-support requirements.
- Strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, short-notice requirements, travel, and surge support without disrupting mission continuity.
- The ability to work on-site at MacDill Air Force Base and travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
Nice to Haves
- Previous experience supporting USSOCOM, a Geographic Combatant Command, a Theater Special Operations Command, or NATO SOF Headquarters.
- Experience developing performance measures, staffing plans, quality-control processes, or transition plans.
- Experience mentoring Allied or Partner Nation military officers and senior enlisted leaders.
- Familiarity with USSOCOM staff processes, international SOF planning forums, and multinational coordination mechanisms.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information access is required.
