We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure complex database environments supporting critical technology operations.
This role focuses on ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and scalability across production and non-production systems.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in database administration, storage management, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
Working within a collaborative technology environment, you will help maintain high-quality data infrastructure aligned with business and operational requirements.
You will contribute to architecture decisions, establish database standards, and implement solutions that improve efficiency and resilience.

The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for managing enterprise database environments, ensuring operational stability, security, and performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and maintain production and non-production databases, ensuring availability, reliability, and alignment with established IT standards.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and performance metrics, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Define and maintain database storage standards, access controls, security policies, and user permissions to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform database backup and recovery activities, configure database parameters, and support logical data model implementations.
- Develop and maintain data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing documentation to support organizational needs.
- Optimize database access, resource allocation, and system configurations to improve performance and cost efficiency.
- Analyze query execution plans and performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and technical teams to ensure database solutions meet business and operational objectives.
- Produce technical documentation, reports, and recommendations supporting IT governance and database management practices.
- Provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a remote professional environment.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in database administration, particularly within enterprise and mainframe environments, along with excellent technical problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Experience working as an ADABAS Database Administrator (DBA) with Software AG products hosted in a mainframe environment.
- At least 3 years of experience managing database systems, including design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration across multi-platform environments.
- Proven experience managing production and non-production databases, including backup/recovery processes, configuration, and optimization.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, resource management, logical data models, repositories, dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with DB2 is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related productivity applications.
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet project-specific compliance requirements.
- Competitive salary range of $145,600 - $170,372.80 annually.
