Position Purpose:
The 340B Pharmacy Analyst will ensure 340B Drug Discount program compliance and optimize current systems to maximize drug savings. Analyst responsibilities include daily maintenance of the split billing software, routine self-audits, and assisting with contract pharmacy administration. The analyst will assist with health system initiatives and projects that involve 340B. It is an expectation that the analyst will be a 340B subject-matter expert and keep up-to-date with recent news and regulations. The analyst will also have a role in revenue integrity and ensuring outpatient medication transactions are being billed correctly.
The 340B Pharmacy Analyst will report directly to the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager.
Key Job Activities:
Reviews 340B policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal 340B regulations.
Maintains up-to-date policies and procedures on 340B purchasing processes.
Collaborates with pharmacy staff and managers to resolve account accumulation issues regarding data support systems.
Serves as a subject expert for 340B self-auditing and compliance; will assist in answering any questions during audits.
Conducts routine self-audits to prevent potential duplicate discount rebates and to ensure patient eligibility for qualified and nonqualified patients.
Monitors, reports, and analyzes contract pharmacy 340B activities.
Develops 340B quality assurance training for employees, as appropriate. This includes reports to educate staff members on the financial impact of 340B at the institution.
Researches and identifies problems, as well as formulates solutions to problems that may arise with 340B product accumulation and CDM mapping.
Actively maintains current knowledge of all legislative changes regarding 340B and its impact to Mount Sinai Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital.
Assists with any corrective actions that may be needed during audits.
Provides financial analysis, presentation, and modeling of 340B operations.
Submits and analyzes data on 340B data-sharing portals such as 340B ESP and Beacon.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:
HS Degree required
Obtain Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (within 6 months of employment)
Candidate must be able to analyze data and communicate through data presentations the impact of 340B to the health system.
Previous experience with 340B compliance and knowledge of 340B drug pricing program
At least 3 years of experience working in a highly regulated environment developing assessments, including corrective action planning
Previous work with electronic medical records
Preferred candidates should have prior experience as a buyer in a hospital pharmacy setting.
Knowledge and Skills:
Candidate must have strong verbal presentation skills and written skills to facilitate work with all levels of management, including executive management.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
State of Illinois pharmacy technician license
Obtain Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (within 6 months of employment)
