About Us

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services to our clients, ensuring seamless communication and connectivity in today's fast-paced digital landscape.
Our Mission
To implement tailored and extraordinary modern-day technology, while achieving complete customer satisfaction in all of Florida.
Job Summary:
Modern Tek Solutions is seeking a Sales and Marketing Lead to build and lead our sales and marketing efforts and drive growth across Florida. This is a hands-on sales leadership role responsible for generating new business, re-engaging dormant customers, and opening doors for structured cabling, CCTV, access control, audio/visual, IT solutions, and service agreements.
The Sales and Marketing Lead will identify opportunities, build customer relationships, set a practical sales and marketing plan, and work with Estimators and Service Managers to hand off qualified deals. Occasional light estimating may be required for smaller opportunities, but the focus is sales growth, market expansion, and leadership of this function.
This is a statewide position with targeted campaigns in key regions. The Sales and Marketing Lead owns the sales and marketing plan now and will help develop the team and processes as Modern Tek grows.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor assigned bid boards and incoming opportunities; track due dates, addenda, questions, and proposal status in Salesforce.
- Read construction drawings, specifications, device schedules, risers, and customer requirements; perform accurate quantity takeoffs.
- Build complete bills of material and labor estimates for cabling, fiber, CCTV, access control, network, audio visual, and related low voltage work within demonstrated expertise.
- Select compatible equipment and required accessories such as licenses, power supplies, network ports, cabling, pathways, mounting hardware, and storage; check manufacturer requirements and availability.
- Request and compare vendor quotes; document part numbers, lead times, substitutions, freight, and pricing validity.
- Develop clear scopes, assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and change order pricing; flag gaps and conflicts before submission.
- Coordinate technical questions and constructability reviews with operations, field leads, vendors, and leadership; make site visits when needed.
- Apply company labor standards, material pricing, margin targets, and approval rules; route final pricing and unusual risk for management approval.
- Maintain an organized estimate record and handoff package so operations can understand what was sold, how it was priced, and what is required to deliver it.
- Review completed work and estimate results to improve takeoffs, labor assumptions, product selection, and future bids.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of low voltage estimating, system design support, project management, or substantial field experience with demonstrated responsibility for producing estimates.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, technology, and low voltage plans and specifications, including addenda and bid instructions.
- Working knowledge of multiple low voltage systems and the dependencies needed to make an installation functional and buildable.
- Experience with takeoffs, bills of material, vendor pricing, labor estimates, and written proposal scopes.
- Comfort with spreadsheets, PDF markup or takeoff tools, bid portals, and a CRM or estimating platform; ability to learn MTS workflows in Salesforce.
- Strong attention to detail, deadline management, written communication, and judgment about when technical or commercial approval is needed.
- Preferred: experience with commercial hospitality, multifamily, or similar construction projects; manufacturer training or relevant low voltage certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of climbing stairs and walking through commercial properties during occasional site visits and job walkthroughs.
- Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods when handling administrative tasks.
Additional Company Information:
This is a full-time position offering:
- Paid time off
- Sick days
- Retirement fund with 3.5% matching
- Annual Profit Sharing*
- Benefits including medical, dental, vision, and long-term disability coverage
