Job Description

Microvast gmbH is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to run IT on site at Ludwigsfelde, Germany. This is a hands-on role. You'll be the senior technical person on the ground, owning everything from the site network and end-user support to SAP issue resolution and audit evidence for the region.

Key Responsibilities: Regional IT operations

  • Handle day-to-day IT for the German site yourself: end-user support, onboarding and offboarding, and hardware setup and lifecycle
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot the site network: switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls and connectivity back to the global environment
  • Support physical access control for the German site, enterprise applications on Microsoft tenancy working with the US and China teams where systems overlap
  • Administer Jira Service Management and addressing tickets for Germany to meet agreed service levels
  • Maintain license and vendor inventory.

Identity and Microsoft 365

  • Administer Entra ID and Microsoft 365 identities for Germany, in coordination with the US team
  • Enforce conditional access, MFA and joiner/mover/leaver controls
  • Run periodic user access reviews for German users and fix what they turn up

Business applications

  • Act as the regional point of contact for SAP S/4HANA, working with our SAP Basis, Security and functional resources to resolve local issues after the recent upgrade
  • Support the local applications as well as Cloud applications for end users.
  • Scope and help deliver technology components for regional projects for the business.

Compliance and audit

  • Collect and maintain ITGC evidence for the German entity during the annual SOX audit
  • Keep German systems and processes in line with GDPR and data residency requirements
  • Work with the Global SOX Compliance Manager on access, change and authorization controls

Reporting and coordination

  • Send a weekly status report to the Global Director of IT covering projects, risks, incidents and ops metrics
  • Manage local IT vendors, contracts and cost
  • Act as the link between German business leaders and the global IT team
What you bring
  • 10+ years of hands-on IT experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking: switching, routing, firewalls, VPN and Wi-Fi
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune, including conditional access and MFA
  • Experience supporting SAP users, even if you're not an SAP specialist
  • Working knowledge of GDPR and how it applies to IT systems, access and data handling
  • Experience supporting an external audit, ideally SOX ITGC, and producing evidence that holds up
  • Comfortable working independently as the only IT person on site
  • Professional proficiency in both English and German; you'll use German on site and English with the global team (English speaking proficiency is required)
  • Able to work on site full time and handle hardware and infrastructure directly

No people management experience is needed for this role.

Nice to have
  • Experience in battery, automotive or industrial manufacturing
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (RISE or private cloud) and how upgrades affect end users
  • Azure networking and infrastructure experience
  • Jira Service Management or a similar ITSM platform
  • Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, SC-300 or AZ-104
  • Experience working in a global team across time zones, especially with the US and China
Reporting and team

You'll report to the Global Director of Information Technology, based in the US. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, based full time on site in Ludwigsfelde, Germany. There are no people management or office management duties. Expect to travel about once a year.

You'll work closely with the US IT Manager, the China/MPS IT lead, our SAP Basis and Security resources, and the Global SOX Compliance Manager. Expect regular calls that span US and European hours.
