Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Technician will be primarily responsible for performing a variety of accounting-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things:

  • Entering data into the Acomba accounting system;
  • Performing bank reconciliations for various bank accounts;
  • Processing payroll using the ADP system;
  • Entering supplier invoices and processing payments to various vendors (accounts payable);
  • Performing administrative tasks related to the collection and distribution of insurance premiums to insurers;
  • Maintaining records of fixed assets;
  • Analyzing general ledger accounts;
  • Preparing monthly tax reports;
  • Making bank deposits;
  • Following up on accounts receivable;
  • Entering daily data into the cash flow spreadsheet;
  • Performing administrative tasks related to claims payments;
  • Participating in the budgeting process;
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications and Skills:

  • A college diploma in Administrative Techniques, specializing in Finance or Accounting, or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
  • At least three years of relevant experience;
  • At least three years of experience using accounting software (experience with Acomba is a significant asset);
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and rigor;
  • The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions;
  • Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written;
  • Experience in group insurance is an asset.
