Career Opportunity: Occupational Therapist
Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 Hours per week
Location: Regular regional travel is required for this position, including a minimum of five (5) days per month in Takla Landing and five (5) days per month in Yekooche. The remaining workdays will be based out of Prince George and surrounding CSFS communities.

The Opportunity: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the OT provides appropriate & effective occupational therapy clinical management for clients by prioritizing, assessing, treating, re-evaluating, documenting & teaching techniques aimed at improving mobility, relieving pain & restoring physical and mental functioning.
- Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, as well as within a client centered care model.
- Educates and counsels family members and caregivers regarding the impact of disability, injury or disease on the individual and their role in the treatment and recovery process
- Evaluates factors that affect activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), leisure and social participation. Considers client factors including body function & body structure, habits and behaviour patterns, cultural and spiritual context as well as communication skills.
- Empowers and supports patients to improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments.

What You Will Bring to The Role:
- Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Registration in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
- An equivalent combination of education, training, or experience may be considered.

The Location:
Fort Saint James, incorporated in 1952, has a population of approximately 4,700, including surrounding First Nations and rural communities. It is a tight knit community that offers an abundance of outdoor activities. The area has hundreds of lakes and rivers and a vast amount of rolling hills and forests. The local economy is well diversified, although resource oriented.
Takla Landing is a beautiful remote community in north-central British Columbia. Located 195 km north of Fort St. James on the eastern shore of Takla Lake within Takla First Nation’s traditional territory and features stunning lakes, rivers, forests, and mountains.

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $48.0917 to $62.2800 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
