About the Role:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operational functions and driving organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires strategic planning and execution to align operational activities with the company’s overall business goals and growth objectives. The COO will collaborate closely with other executives to develop and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives that enhance productivity and profitability. Additionally, the COO will lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and ensure operational excellence across all departments. Ultimately, the COO will play a critical role in scaling the business, improving operational performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations or general management roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex operations and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the specific industry relevant to the company’s business.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven operational tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience with change management and organizational development initiatives
  • knowledgeable with all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to; regulatory relations, Maintenance, Operations and all related back-office functions of a 121 supplemental company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple departments, ensuring alignment with business priorities and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage senior operational leaders to drive performance, accountability, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and operational efficiencies to enhance overall business performance.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize operational capacity and financial outcomes.
  • Drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments to support seamless business operations.

Skills:

The COO will utilize strategic thinking and leadership skills daily to guide operational decision-making and align teams with the company’s vision. Strong analytical and financial skills will be essential for interpreting performance data, managing budgets, and driving cost efficiencies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills will facilitate collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders. Problem-solving and change management skills will be critical in addressing operational challenges and leading continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, proficiency with technology and operational systems will support data-driven management and streamline business processes.
