Job Description
The Engineering Summer Intern supports Elevate’s programs by assisting one or more experienced engineers and various program teams across the organization as needed. The Engineering Summer Intern learns technical and engineering skills, shadows energy assessments, and performs tasks that support larger projects while experiencing the day-to-day workings of energy engineering. The position collaborates closely with other Elevate staff on projects related to improving building performance, advancing energy efficiency, and consulting on sustainability measures. Additional projects involve electrification, solar, certifications, energy efficiency assessments and reporting, and the development of engineering tools.
The Engineering Summer Intern reports to the Manager, Engineering. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois and is currently hybrid remote.
ResponsibilitiesSummer internships at Elevate are paid positions, for current college or graduate students, or recent college graduates. The usual time commitment is for this summer internship is 8-10 months, 20-25 hours/week. The Engineering Summer Intern is paid $20/hour. The Engineering Summer Intern will work remotely but may be required to attend on-site fieldwork.
