Youth Tennis Instructor - Friday Afternoons in GILBERT, Arizona at Beginners Edge Sports Training

B.E.S.T. is looking for an energetic and dependable Tennis Coach to lead youth classes on Friday afternoons in Gilbert, AZ. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching sports, working with kids, and creating an active, positive environment where players can learn new skills and have fun.

Our coaches lead structured classes focused on tennis fundamentals, movement, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. You’ll be responsible for keeping students engaged while creating a safe and encouraging experience for every player.

• Lead 45-minute tennis classes for youth participants.
• Teach age-appropriate tennis fundamentals through drills, activities, and games.
• Introduce skills such as proper grip, serving, forehand and backhand strokes, footwork, positioning, and basic gameplay.
• Keep students active, engaged, and participating throughout the class.
• Demonstrate techniques and explain skills in a way that is easy for children to understand.
• Manage a group of children while maintaining a positive and organized class environment.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and confidence.
• Follow B.E.S.T. curriculum and coaching expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and program partners.
• Arrive 30 minutes before class, and stay 10 minutes after class — paid.
• Set up and put away equipment before and after programming.

• Able to teach tennis skills while keeping the class fun and engaging.
• Professional when interacting with children, parents, and school/community partners.
• A strong communicator and team player.
• Experienced with tennis, youth sports, coaching, teaching, or recreation preferred.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel to the assigned program location.
• Ability to consistently work Friday afternoons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to lift or carry up to 40lbs
• Commitment to consistently work Saturday mornings.
• Implement and follow B.E.S.T. lesson plans and coaching techniques.
• Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants at all times.
• Complete required class check-ins, reporting, and attendance tracking.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Represent B.E.S.T. values and uphold a high standard of customer service.
