User Engagement Specialist/ Outreach CoordinatorUSA | Full-Time (40)

Join our nationwide team at the intersection of climate science and public engagement as a User Engagement Specialist/Outreach Coordinator. This critical role combines the development of user-inspired environmental solutions with comprehensive outreach strategies to promote awareness and support for sustainable initiatives. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of environmental professionals, utilizing your skills in communication, community engagement, and policy advocacy to make a tangible impact on environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Engagement and Product Development: Provide development support by assessing user needs, conducting tailored user engagement activities, and translating these requirements into design specifications for sustainable products and services.
  • Outreach and Advocacy: Develop and execute outreach strategies to elevate environmental awareness and mobilize support for clean energy and sustainability initiatives across diverse communities.
  • Content Creation: Craft engaging and educational content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and the organization's website, focusing on environmental policies and initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with environmental scientists, engineers, and policy experts to ensure accurate communication of complex environmental issues. Design and conduct user engagement activities for priority sectors, fostering meaningful collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in user engagement, product development based on user needs, and executing successful outreach or advocacy campaigns, preferably within the environmental sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in translating user requirements into design specifications, guiding product development efforts.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.

Preferred Skills

  • A passion for environmental stewardship and a commitment to promoting sustainable practices.
  • Experience in public speaking and effectively presenting complex environmental issues to varied audiences, including community groups and the media.
  • Knowledge of environmental policy and legislation, interpreting environmental information, and assessing climate impacts.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Political Science, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degrees are welcomed and considered an asset.
