Regional Sales Manager – Transportation & Logistics

SalSon Logistics

Location: Newark, NJ

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

SalSon Logistics is seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Sales Manager to drive business growth, develop strategic customer relationships, and expand market presence within the transportation and logistics industry. This individual will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and collaborating with operations to deliver customized supply chain solutions for customers.

The ideal candidate is highly driven, customer-focused, and experienced in transportation, warehousing, dedicated transportation, drayage, port operations, or integrated logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase revenue and market share within assigned territories
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities in transportation, warehousing, drayage, and logistics services
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, shippers, brokers, and supply chain partners
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, presentations, and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to ensure customer expectations and service requirements are met
  • Prepare pricing proposals, RFP responses, and customized logistics solutions
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline management, and forecasting within CRM systems
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and trade shows
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and KPIs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of transportation, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain sales experience preferred
  • Proven track record of generating new business and growing customer accounts
  • Strong understanding of trucking, drayage, port operations, warehousing, and supply chain solutions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools
  • Ability to travel within assigned regions as needed
  • Preferred Experience
  • Asset-based transportation sales experience
  • Experience selling dedicated transportation, port drayage, warehousing, or integrated logistics services
  • Existing customer relationships within transportation and logistics markets
  • Knowledge of East Coast port operations and supply chain networks is a plus
