Course description: Study of integral ecology: ecological literacy; interconnected facets of economics, poverty creation, structural injustices and ecological degradation; links between cultural and biological diversity.
Required experience and qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in environmental sciences or a discipline of the environmental humanities.
- Significant research or professional experience in environmental education, ecological literacy, and environmental issues, including the analysis of the impact of human activity on the natural world and the understanding of the differential impacts of environmental degradation on the most vulnerable human and Earth communities.
- Ability to articulate the connections between the fields of transformative leadership, integral ecology and equity studies.
- Active proficiency in French and passive proficiency in the second official language (English).
- Proficiency in community-engaged and/or experiential teaching approaches in adult education.
- Sensitivity to multiple differences (including abilities, genders, and cultures) and to students’ concerns.
- Experience with online learning tools (e.g. Zoom and BrightSpace).
