Job Description

The Director of Residential Sales is responsible for leading the strategy, performance, and growth of Peerless Fence’s residential sales division. This role oversees sales leadership, lead conversion performance, sales process execution, pricing discipline, and sales team development to drive profitable revenue growth and exceptional customer experience.

The Director of Residential Sales will create a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, consultative selling, operational alignment, and delivering industry-leading customer service while supporting Peerless Fence’s commitment to quality, service, and integrity.

Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to:

Residential Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute residential sales growth strategies
  • Drive achievement of revenue, booking, and margin goals
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share and penetration
  • Monitor competitive trends, pricing, and local market conditions
  • Develop scalable sales initiatives and promotional programs

Sales Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop residential sales managers and representatives
  • Establish clear sales expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, ride-alongs, and coaching sessions
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing sales talent
  • Build a culture focused on urgency, professionalism, and customer experience

Lead Management & Conversion Optimization

  • Oversee lead flow, appointment conversion, and booking performance
  • Partner with marketing and customer service teams to maximize lead quality and responsiveness
  • Improve close rates, average ticket value, and sales efficiency
  • Ensure disciplined follow-up and pipeline management processes
  • Monitor CRM usage and sales activity accountability

Sales Process & Operational Alignment

  • Standardize residential sales processes and best practices
  • Ensure alignment between sales, operations, and customer service teams
  • Improve handoff quality from sale to installation
  • Reduce sales-related errors, cancellations, and rework
  • Collaborate with operations on scheduling and installation capacity planning


Pricing, Margin & Financial Performance

  • Maintain pricing discipline and margin accountability
  • Monitor discounting practices and profitability trends
  • Analyze sales performance data and forecasting accuracy
  • Support budgeting and revenue forecasting processes
  • Drive profitable growth, not just top-line volume


Customer Experience & Reputation Management

  • Ensure a consultative, professional customer experience
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and referral generation
  • Monitor customer feedback, reviews, and sales-related escalations
  • Improve online reputation and rave review generation


Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Develop reporting dashboards and sales analytics
  • Track pipeline health, conversion metrics, and productivity
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across the sales organization
  • Leverage CRM and technology tools to improve visibility and accountability


General Duties

  • Support and Build Unified Company Culture

  • Uses the proper Personal Protective Equipment when performing work duties. Employee wears the proper shoes, glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc.  Employee is properly attired to perform their job safely (no loose-fitting clothes, unsafe jewelry, etc.)

  • Abides by all local, state, and Federal laws; reads, understands, and agrees to follow the policies outlined in the Company Safety Manual and Company Handbook

  • Assists in driving a continuous improvement strategy within the business to result in ongoing incremental gains in quality and efficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing residential sales teams within fast-paced, results-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of in-home and consultative sales processes, including lead management, customer engagement, closing strategies, and sales pipeline optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sales KPIs, forecasting, accountability systems, and performance metrics to drive consistent revenue growth and margin performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams, improve performance, and foster a culture of accountability and customer service.
  • Strong operational and financial awareness, including the ability to align sales execution with operational capacity, profitability goals, and customer experience standards.
  • Ability to build scalable sales systems, improve lead conversion and booking efficiency, and implement process improvements that support sustainable growth.
  • Highly competitive, data-driven, and results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, team development, and operational discipline.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to balance revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term relationship development.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry leadership experience will be considered.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive residential sales leadership experience, including direct oversight of sales teams, sales performance, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Proven success leading high-volume or multi-location residential sales organizations, preferably within home services, construction, specialty trades, or exterior home improvement industries.
  • Experience managing consultative or in-home sales environments with responsibility for lead conversion, pipeline management, forecasting, and sales accountability systems.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving year-over-year revenue growth, improving close rates, increasing booking efficiency, and strengthening margin performance.
  • Experience developing and implementing sales processes, coaching programs, KPI reporting, and scalable sales infrastructure to support organizational growth.
  • Strong background collaborating cross-functionally with operations, customer service, marketing, and field leadership teams to improve execution and customer outcomes.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining top sales talent while fostering a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
