Position Description:
This position will perform and assist with all aspects of mechanical engineering related to HRI’s core business, focusing on high-temperature heat exchanger design, sizing, analysis, test and manufacturing methods. This position will lead and/or assist other engineers, designers, technicians, or managers on all project phases from engineering feasibility studies and conceptual designs through program planning, structural and thermal analysis, prototyping, and testing to preparation of drawings, specifications, tooling and development of manufacturing processes.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
- Design, analysis, sizing/rating, cost estimating, and manufacturing tooling design of compact high-temperature heat exchangers.
- Preparation of project/program plans, conceptual design, feasibility studies, analysis, specification, prototyping, and testing, with responsibilities and involvement continuing through to product launch and full production implementation.
- Product acceptance testing and compliance with required internal and external standards for safety, reliability, and performance.
- Coordination of design/development of complex engineered systems across several engineering disciplines.
- Support and contribute to continuous improvements in the reliability, value, and profitability of company products using VA/VE and other methods.

Requirements:Requirements:
Critical Competencies / Experience:
- Desire to learn and apply the latest technology in new product development and improvements of current products.
- The ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple conflicting tasks and changing priorities.
- Proactive team player comfortable working in a multi-disciplined fast paced team environment.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, particularly in thermodynamics, heat transfer and machine/tooling design disciplines.
- Excellent technical communication skills including: writing, presentation, and documentation.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as bills of material, engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, etc.
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies and equipment including CNC equipment, press brakes, laser cutting systems, and welding systems.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in SolidWorks, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with SolidWorks Simulation tools, CFD, or other similar analysis software a plus.
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required
Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:
- 2-5 years of experience in design and engineering of complex mechanical systems required. Experience with high temperature heat exchangers and their applications a plus.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office and plant floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Plant floor environment typically requires the use of PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, etc.
