Responsibilities
This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, SaaS Apps Governance & Rationalization to establish and lead our enterprise SaaS governance function. This role will assess our current SaaS environment, eliminate redundancies, and build a sustainable management framework ensuring security, legal, compliance, and operational requirements are met across all applications including shadow IT. The role includes direct management of Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive SaaS application inventory and risk assessment
- Develop and enforce SaaS governance policies and rationalization frameworks
- Identify and eliminate unused, redundant, or non-compliant applications
- Optimize software spend through contract negotiation and consolidation
- Build and maintain an enterprise application catalog
- Develop business case and roadmap for SSPM and governance tooling
- Create rationalization targets aligned with 2026-2028 strategic goals
- Oversee SharePoint governance including site provisioning, lifecycle, and decommissioning
- Enforce information architecture standards, retention policies, and DLP controls
- Manage Teams governance including security configurations, compliance, and integrations
- Establish Copilot governance framework including usage policies and data privacy controls
- Develop Power Apps governance policies including environment strategy and RBAC
- Manage access controls, permissions, and security group management across M365
- Implement and maintain MFA, conditional access, and Azure AD / Entra ID integration
- Manage M365 licensing optimization and cost controls
- Establish governance framework for Copilot Studio and agentic AI implementation
- Define policies for agentic AI including autonomous workflows and decision-making authority
- Implement data governance, audit trails, and safety controls for agentic AI activities
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk on regulatory implications
- Establish incident response procedures for agentic AI security events
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and FedRAMP requirements
- Establish end-to-end legal hold processes for enterprise SaaS applications
- Define eDiscovery readiness standards for sanctioned SaaS apps
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Security on preservation workflows
- Implement repeatable runbooks for defensible evidence capture and chain of custody
- Manage security compliance monitoring through Microsoft Purview and Compliance Manager
- Oversee threat protection including Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing
- Maintain audit logs and reporting for compliance and forensic purposes
- Build and manage a team of SaaS governance specialists and M365 platform engineers
- Manage performance, development, and career growth of direct reports
- Develop training and certification programs on M365 security and governance
- Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Business teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of enterprise software asset management, SaaS governance, or IT operations experience
- 5+ years in a management or leadership role
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology initiatives or transformation programs
- Deep knowledge of SaaS security, compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, etc.), and legal/regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting legal hold and eDiscovery processes for SaaS applications and/or Microsoft 365 (e.g., preservation workflows, collection/export, auditability, chain-of-custody)
- Experience with SSPM, CASB, identity and access management, or similar governance technologies
- Strong stakeholder management skills across IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and business units
- Proficiency with software asset management tools and CMDB systems
- Excellent project management and program execution capabilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security architecture, including Azure AD/Entra ID, conditional access, and DLP
- Understanding of AI/ML governance, responsible AI principles, and agentic AI risks and controls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications (MS-900, MS-101, MS-102, or equivalent)
- Copilot Studio administration and governance experience
- Experience with agentic AI implementation, governance, and risk management
- Experience with cloud migration and server software management in containerized/cloud environments
- Familiarity with vulnerability management and privilege access management (PAM) solutions
- Background in compliance, audit, or risk management
- Experience with shadow IT discovery and remediation
- Certification in relevant areas (CISSP, CCSK, ITIL, AZ-104, AI-900, or equivalent)
- Experience managing Copilot and AI governance in enterprise environments
- Power Apps and Power Automate administration and governance experience
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, model behavior control, and AI safety practices
