Retail Merchandiser & Category Support Specialist

Kim’s Convenience Stores is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Retail Merchandiser & Category Support Specialist to support store merchandising, category execution, promotional setup, and communication between stores and the corporate office.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both in stores and with data, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is eager to grow into expanded category management responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planograms, merchandising standards, and store resets

• Review store conditions and identify opportunities to improve sales and execution

• Monitor out-of-stocks, overstocks, and slow-moving inventory

• Assist with merchandising setup for new stores, remodels, and promotions

• Verify pricing and tagging accuracy and communicate issues to the Pricebook team

• Support vendor-managed categories and ensure resets and displays are completed correctly

• Help reduce shrink by identifying inventory and merchandising opportunities

• Analyze sales trends and product performance to support category decisions

• Assist with promotional execution and marketing material placement

• Build positive relationships with store teams and vendors

• Communicate field observations and opportunities back to leadership

• Attend marketing meetings and assist with store events and grand openings

• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement
• Strong aptitude for learning new systems, processes, and technology platforms quickly
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Willingness to travel regularly to store locations
• Retail, convenience store, grocery, merchandising, or category management experience preferred
• Stands and walks 8-10 hours a day on a tile or concrete surface while completing job duties.
• Lifts and carries stock weighing up to fifty (50) pounds while stocking shelves and cooler.
• Pulls and pushes up to fifty (50) pounds to move stock.
• Bends and stoops to stock low shelves in store, cooler and to clean.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with PDI systems preferred
• Experience with Blue Yonder/Spaceman or other planogram software is a plus
• Experience with merchandising execution, planograms, or category management
• Knowledge of convenience store operations and vendor-managed categories
• Understanding of inventory management, shrink reduction, and promotional execution
