You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building international partnerships, and supporting market expansion efforts in allied and partner nations. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will engage with senior stakeholders across business, operations, legal, and program management teams to develop winning strategies for complex international pursuits. Accountabilities:
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue international business opportunities aligned with strategic growth priorities across defense, aerospace, security, and government markets.
  • Develop and execute regional market entry and expansion strategies while building a sustainable pipeline of international opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with foreign government officials, military leaders, embassies, industry stakeholders, channel partners, and prime contractors.
  • Lead partnership development activities including teaming agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances to strengthen international positioning.
  • Support capture strategy development, proposal efforts, pricing coordination, and competitive solution design for international pursuits.
  • Monitor geopolitical developments, procurement trends, defense spending, and regional market dynamics to identify emerging growth opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence analysis and provide executive leadership with strategic recommendations, forecasts, and market insights.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, export control regulations, anti-corruption laws, and international trade requirements while mitigating operational and regulatory risks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, contracts, legal, operations, and program management teams to align solutions with customer needs and corporate objectives.
  • Represent the organization at international trade events, defense exhibitions, industry conferences, and customer engagements globally.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong experience in international business development, defense, aerospace, government contracting, or related industries.
  • Deep understanding of Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), international cooperative programs, and allied defense initiatives.
  • Knowledge of international acquisition environments, export controls, compliance frameworks, and government procurement processes.
  • Experience conducting market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic planning in international markets.
  • Strong relationship-building and executive communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regional defense markets such as Europe, Indo-Pacific, Middle East, or Latin America is highly valued.
  • Ability to navigate complex international environments and manage multiple growth initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting offset agreements, industrial participation strategies, or international teaming arrangements is a plus.
  • Foreign language proficiency, prior military or diplomatic experience, and active security clearance are considered advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed (up to 50%).
