What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a versatile and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. This hands-on role supports all areas of human resources in a dynamic, small-company manufacturing environment. The HR Generalist will partner closely with manufacturing leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, drive employee engagement, and help build a strong workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize HRIS platforms for data management, benefits, and reporting. Familiarity with the Paylocity HRIS system is required.
- Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance issues, mitigating incidents, and conducting thorough investigations.
- Maintain full OSHA compliance, support safety programs, assist with incident reporting, investigations, and required documentation.
- Administer FMLA leaves, track entitlements, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Oversee benefits enrollment and ongoing administration for health insurance, retirement plans, short-term disability, and long-term disability. Provide employee support during open enrollment and with benefits inquiries.
- Assist with payroll processing, time and attendance, and related employee questions.
- Lead culture and employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive, and motivated workforce.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to assess needs and coordinate training and development programs focused on production skills, safety, and leadership growth.
- Maintain accurate employee records, generate HR reports, and support recruitment efforts as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong proficiency with Paylocity HRIS system.
- Solid working knowledge of employment laws, including OSHA, FMLA, FLSA, and benefits regulations.
- Proven experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Hands-on background with benefits administration and payroll support.
- Ability to develop and lead employee engagement and culture initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment, including occasional time on the production floor.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification is a plus.
