About the Role:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all hotel facilities and equipment. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The technician will work proactively to identify potential problems before they escalate, minimizing downtime and enhancing guest satisfaction. Collaboration with other hotel departments is essential to prioritize maintenance tasks and respond promptly to urgent repair needs. Ultimately, this role supports the hotel's reputation by maintaining high standards of functionality and appearance throughout the property.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between hotel facilities as needed.
- Available to work weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospitality or hotel environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, diagnosing issues and completing repairs efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to hotel operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies by following proper procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Skills:
The required skills enable the technician to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, from routine inspections to complex repairs, ensuring all hotel systems function reliably. Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints allows for accurate diagnosis and efficient problem resolution. Preferred skills such as certification and experience with CMMS enhance the technician’s ability to manage maintenance schedules and track work orders effectively. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential for quickly identifying issues and implementing solutions that minimize guest inconvenience. Additionally, good communication and collaboration skills facilitate coordination with hotel staff to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks seamlessly.
