Job Description

Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company working with brands such as Juicy Couture, Nautica, Laura Ashley, and Danskin (visit dreamwear.com/our-brands to see more). The thriving partnerships we have established worldwide help ensure the efficient production and expedited delivery of our product, and the impeccable quality and competitive pricing of our merchandise make us a top choice and reliable partner for leading retailers across the globe.

Our Finance & Accounting team is responsible for the maintenance of the company’s financial records and the coordination of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Function. We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to oversee the Accounts Payable department, manage the day-to-day flow of transactions into the General Ledger, and lead the royalty reporting submission process across our portfolio of licensed brands. This role also supports financial statement analysis and key reporting that informs business decisions.

This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable operating independently, setting priorities, and driving process improvement, while reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager and working closely with the CFO, as well as cross-functional teams including licensing, warehousing, and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable department, (team of three), including invoice processing, vendor relationships, payment approvals, and AP aging review.
  • Manage the day-to-day flow of accounting transactions into the general ledger, including recording and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with warehouse partners, licensors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve billing, invoicing, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, efficiency, and accuracy across AP and general accounting functions.
  • Own the royalty reporting submission process across licensed brands, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with license agreement terms.
  • Support audit requests (financial statement audits, 401(k)/ERISA audits, and licensor royalty audits) with organized, accurate documentation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and related reports to support management decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager and CFO to support month-end and year-end close, including preparation of supporting schedules and variance analysis.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the CFO.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience; a mix of private and public accounting experience is a plus.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable processes, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience with royalty accounting or licensing-based revenue models is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, as well as work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Smart, driven, and confident, with the ability to make decisions, escalate issues appropriately, and hold vendors and business partners accountable.
  • Experience using AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot) to improve efficiency, automate workflows, and support financial analysis is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
