This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Sales Manager, Stock Prep Solutions based in Canada.
This highly visible sales role is focused on growing market share and strengthening customer relationships across the pulp and paper industry.
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio covering wear parts, improvement projects, field services, and spare parts for stock preparation applications.
The position combines technical expertise, consultative selling, customer relationship management, and business development.
You’ll work directly with mills and key decision-makers to understand process conditions, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions that deliver measurable value.
A major part of the role involves developing sales strategies, managing product trials, responding to competitive threats, and supporting customers as their operational needs evolve.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, applications, and marketing teams to develop and implement effective technical solutions.

- Maintain and grow existing business while developing strategies to increase market share across the assigned territory.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers through regular visits, communication, and proactive account management.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer operations, key decision-makers, process conditions, and requirements related to fiber-processing components.
- Create and execute sales plans designed to strengthen existing business, identify new opportunities, and expand product and application adoption.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions based on technical requirements and operating conditions.
- Propose, coordinate, and monitor product trials to demonstrate the performance and value of alternative solutions compared with competitors.
- Respond quickly and effectively to customer needs, providing a high level of service and responsiveness.
- Monitor competitive activity, identify threats to existing business, and develop strategies to protect and grow accounts.
- Collect and communicate relevant process and operational data to application engineers so they can develop optimization recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, applications, design, and marketing teams to support new concepts, product improvements, and customer solutions.
- Leverage established product technologies, sales tools, market intelligence, and technical resources to maximize commercial opportunities.
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, with customer-facing travel representing up to 70% of the role.
- Technical degree or diploma, preferably in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience working in a pulp and paper mill and/or mechanical pulp mill environment.
- Co-op placements, internships, or comparable practical industry experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes and the ability to translate customer operating requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
- Interest in transitioning from a technical pulp and paper career into a customer-facing sales and business development role is welcomed.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities, protect existing accounts, and respond effectively to competitive pressures.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage customers, technical specialists, engineers, and decision-makers.
- Consultative and solution-oriented approach, with strong listening, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage a territory effectively, and prioritize multiple customer and business opportunities.
- Comfortable collaborating across technical, engineering, manufacturing, applications, and commercial teams.
