Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support accounts receivable, billing, payment processing, and collections for construction-related contracts. This role works closely with project managers, customers, and accounting team members to ensure accurate, timely billing and payment records.


Essential Functions
  • Review assigned contracts and identify billing opportunities through monthly evaluations with project managers.
  • Ensure contracts are billed monthly according to customer requirements and due dates.
  • Obtain required management signatures on pay applications and waivers.
  • Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections.
  • Identify delinquent accounts by reviewing open invoice reports and contact customers with delinquent balances to request payment daily, or as needed.
  • Assist in generating monthly billing statements.
  • Deposit checks through online banking in accordance with company procedures and record payments and deposits in Comsense.
  • Process credit card payments.
  • Complete assigned month-end closing procedures by calendared due dates.


Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of accounts receivable, billing, collections, or related accounting experience required.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Comsense experience preferred but not required.

  • Handles confidential financial information with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with customers, managers, and team members.
  • Anticipates work needs, follows established procedures, and meets billing deadlines.
  • Works independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn accounting software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records.
  • Operates standard office equipment, including computer, Bluetooth, and multifunction printer.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The employee must be able to exchange accurate information, review written and electronic materials, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers, with or without reasonable accommodation.
