The Fitness Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fitness department, ensuring an exceptional experience for guests and members while driving revenue through fitness programming and personal training services. This role combines leadership, operations management, staff development, and member engagement to promote a high-quality fitness environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the fitness floor and equipment, leading staff in daily upkeep standards.
Build strong relationships with guests and members, actively promoting and selling fitness packages and one-on-one personal training services.
Schedule and manage staff for F45 sessions, ensuring proper coverage and high-quality instruction.
Monitor and report weekly metrics, including personal training sessions and attendance across all fitness classes.
Lead, mentor, and develop fitness staff to ensure exceptional service delivery and professional growth.
Maintain current industry certifications and pursue ongoing education to stay aligned with fitness trends and best practices.
Develop, implement, and evaluate new fitness programs, ensuring their effectiveness and member engagement.
Collaborate closely with the Assistant General Manager of Membership/Fitness to align departmental goals and strategies.
Conduct outreach to prospective members, schedule consultations, and convert new members into active participants in fitness programs in addition to their
existing memberships.
Proactively follow up with all new members to promote fitness services, offering complimentary consultations and trial periods to drive engagement and
conversion into paid programs.
Drive membership engagement by increasing participation in fitness offerings and personal training services.
Represent the fitness department at internal club events through promotional tabling, engaging with members and increasing program awareness.
Participate in community events through external tabling initiatives to promote the club, generate leads, and drive both membership and fitness program sales.
Design and implement specialized training programs, including:
o Youth fitness initiatives for junior and senior high school students
o Performance-based training for pre-college athletes
o Maintenance and wellness programs tailored for aging and senior adults
Qualifications
Proven experience in fitness management, personal training, or a related
leadership role
Strong sales and member engagement skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
Current fitness certifications (e.g., NASM, ACE, NSCA, or equivalent), with a commitment to ongoing professional development
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of service
