Surgical Technologist Internship at Crouse Hospital – Syracuse, New York

The Surgical Technologist Internship is designed to introduce the Surgical Technologist (ST) student to the role of ST and introduce them to their role in overall patient care.

The Surgical Technologist Student Intern assists in preparing and maintaining a sterile environment by incorporating current surgical standards, policies, and procedures vital to the practice of Surgical Technology.

The Surgical Technology program case requirements are separate from those cases that the Surgical Technologist intern participates in.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Surgical Technology student in an accredited program, all prerequisites completed, and have successfully completed Introduction and Principles of Surgical Technology.
• Must be eligible for clinical rotations in their surgical technology program
• Letter from the Surgical Technology program director stating student is in good standing in the program.
• The ST intern is required to have and maintain CPR/BLS certification.
