Recreation Assistant in McKeesport, Pennsylvania at Community LIFE

Summary: Are you a creative person who loves activities, crafts and games? Come join the most fun department in town! At Community LIFE, our Recreation/Activties Assistant helps the Activities Coordinator with the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of therapeutic activities for older adults at our day center. The work duties vary on a day-to-day basis and a flexible work schedule is required - you will not be bored in this job! A Driver's license is required for this position, as you will occasionally travel to homes within the community to do activities with our participants.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Required Experience: One year of experience working with a frail or elderly population, providing activities in a social setting. Must have specific recreation/activities experience.

Required Skills:

• Ability to work cooperatively with Activities Coordinator and Day Center staff.
• Willingness to use skills, talents, and creativity to enhance and advance activity programming format.
• Ability / knowledge to take on leadership role in the absence of Activities Coordinator
