ABOUT THE POSITION (Onsite)

The Pharmacy Manager in our Specialty Pharmacy Services line will provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of specialty pharmacy services at Client sites. Responsibilities include overseeing operational, financial, programmatic, clinical, and personnel activities to ensure patient care and customer service excellence. The Pharmacy Manager will oversee the performance and outcomes of the pharmacy team, adjusting plans and priorities as needed to meet resource and operational challenges. Decisions will be guided by established policies, procedures, and organizational priorities, with guidance from Visante leadership on high-impact decisions.
Additionally, this role involves monitoring quality metrics and evolving clinical, financial, and operational practices, developing action plans for continuous improvement. The Pharmacy Manager will supervise clinical pharmacy processes and guide clinical staff on protocols, decision-making, and patient care delivery.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain key processes to improve efficiencies, quality, and service.
  • Analyze operational performance and recommend and implement changes that improve effectiveness.
  • Stay informed of operational and regulatory changes affecting specialty pharmacy services.
  • Lead operational activities across the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of prescription billing and reimbursement, serving as a resource regarding billing inquiries and issues.
  • Oversees the purchase of drugs and supplies and ensures appropriate records and documentation are maintained according to established standards/procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy, CMS, and FDA regulations regarding the medication process (verification, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing).
  • Oversee daily activities that support continuous quality improvement of patient care, including accurate dispensing of medications
  • Understand all specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, be accountable for achieving and maintaining necessary accreditation(s), and maintain organized and up-to-date documentation as required by accreditation bodies. Achieves and maintains specialty pharmacy accreditation (e.g., URAC, ACHC, etc.)
  • Act as an Operational and/or Clinical Pharmacist as necessary to support daily operations.
Requirements:

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE certified school of pharmacy

Preferred: Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or specialty residency is preferred.

Experience

Required: Minimum of 5 years formal leadership experience

Licensure/Certification

Required: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority obtained within 1 months of hire date American Heart Association BLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire date

Preferred: Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification
