Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forensic Analyst based in India.
This is an opportunity to build a career in digital forensics while contributing to a global team supporting complex legal and investigative matters. You will collect, preserve, document, and process digital evidence from cloud platforms, mobile devices, and other sources under established procedures. The role begins with structured, high-volume forensic operations and comprehensive training from experienced international practitioners. As you develop your technical expertise and complete certification milestones, you will progressively take ownership of more complex requests and independent coverage. You will work closely with colleagues across the US, EMEA, and APAC, providing reliable forensic support across time zones. This is a demanding but structured environment for a detail-oriented professional who values accuracy, accountability, continuous learning, and client-focused service.
Process cloud data collections from platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and comparable sources while following established standard operating procedures.
Generate mobile device report exports from forensic tool outputs, including Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensics, Magnet AXIOM, or equivalent platforms.
Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation, evidence-handling logs, case records, and ticket notes.
Travel within India when required for onsite data collection, evidence handling, or media handover.
Triage, categorize, and route incoming forensic tickets through the designated work-management system.
Claim and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 requests within defined service-level agreements, prioritizing quality-control requests appropriately.
Monitor collection and escalation channels during assigned shifts and promptly alert the appropriate coverage manager to priority matters.
Execute scheduled, time-sensitive, and prioritized cloud and remote collections during weekend coverage periods.
Escalate client-facing, legally sensitive, or out-of-scope matters to the appropriate international team while providing comprehensive handoff documentation.
Complete structured training, shadowing, and certification milestones and work independently on assigned ticket types once certified.
Contribute to and maintain internal knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and operational documentation.
Progress toward independent coverage of routine forensic requests and gradually expand into broader collection and analysis responsibilities.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, ownership, continuous improvement, teamwork, and consistent delivery of results.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
1–3 years of experience in digital forensics, IT operations, helpdesk or ticketing environments, or another structured technical role. Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail may compensate for limited direct forensic experience.
Exposure to forensic platforms such as Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM, EnCase, FTK, Oxygen Forensics, X-Ways, or comparable tools is advantageous but not required, as structured training is provided.
Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a similar language is beneficial.
Strong written English skills, particularly for technical documentation, evidence records, ticket notes, and handoff communications.
Fluent spoken English and confidence communicating with colleagues and stakeholders across the US, UK, and APAC.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow defined procedures accurately when handling sensitive information and digital evidence.
Ability to work independently after certification while following established escalation and quality-control protocols.
Comfortable working a sustained U.S.-aligned night schedule, including Saturday and Sunday coverage once certified.
Willingness and ability to travel within India for onsite collection or evidence/media handover when required.
A valid passport is recommended, as the role may involve approximately 1–2 international onsite trips per year.
Previous experience with a U.S.-based employer, legal services, banking, IT infrastructure, IT consulting, programming, or international study/work experience is preferred but not essential.
Strong sense of ownership, reliability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
Ability to operate effectively in a structured, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and service quality are critical.
Fully remote opportunity from a major city in India, with a hybrid option available from Chennai.
Full-time employment with company-provided equipment, VPN access, and required technical tools.
Market-competitive compensation with a shift differential for U.S.-aligned and weekend working hours.
Health and insurance benefits in accordance with applicable India policies.
Paid time off and statutory benefits.
Structured training, shadowing, and certification led by experienced international forensic practitioners.
Clear career progression from supervised ticket handling to independent ownership and broader digital forensics responsibilities.
Quarterly performance reviews supporting professional development and career growth.
Opportunity to work as part of a global forensics team across US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Exposure to cloud collections, mobile forensics, evidence handling, legal technology, and investigative workflows.
Shift and rest planning designed to support sustainable working patterns, with flexibility to swap shifts with teammates where possible.
Opportunity to develop specialized expertise in a growing and globally connected digital forensics environment.
