Job Description
We are looking for an organized, dependable, and proactive Distribution Center Clerk to support the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of our Mississauga warehouse.
The position is fully on-site and requires availability to work the scheduled hours of 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
This is a hands-on role that works closely with warehouse employees, drivers, and other departments to ensure customer orders, inbound shipments, inventory records, and documentation are processed accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and balancing administrative responsibilities with operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage daily customer orders, ensuring orders are accurate and shipped on schedule.
- Receive inbound shipments into the appropriate systems and maintain all related documentation.
- Monitor open orders and proactively follow up on issues that could impact shipping or customer requirements.
- Greet drivers professionally and provide clear direction regarding Dempsey's documented safety and warehouse procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform stock checks as required.
- Prepare and process daily operational reports and maintain accurate documentation and databases.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve issues and support timely, effective solutions.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and processing information.
- Follow Dempsey's registered ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including applicable policies and work instructions.
- Follow and promote HACCP/FSEP food safety principles and procedures among employees, drivers, and visitors.
- Participate in and support the facility's 5S Program and general workplace organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Participate in training courses, webinars, and seminars as required.
- Promptly report incidents, safety concerns, and non-conformances to management.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and safety-focused workplace.
- Support special projects and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of related administrative, warehouse, logistics, or operations experience.
- Experience working with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and/or Synapse is considered an asset
- High school diploma required; a college diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a warehouse and operations team.
Work Environment
This position works primarily within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment handling food ingredients and industrial chemical products. The role involves regular interaction with warehouse employees, drivers, and other departments and requires consistent adherence to established health, safety, quality, and food-safety procedures.
