Description:
As a member of the Fragrance Lab Team, The Fragrance Lab Technician is responsible for accurately compounding fragrance and sample formulations for customer evaluation. This role supports the development and delivery of high-quality fragrance solutions while maintaining accuracy, quality, and efficiency in laboratory operations.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct standardized tests and laboratory analysis to evaluate the quality and physical characteristics of fragrance oils such as flash points and specific gravity testing as required, in order to evaluate the quality of physical characteristics of fragrance raw materials or compounded fragrance oils.
- Analyze and interpret the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications.
- Monitor laboratory work and product quality to ensure compliance with set standards and specifications.
- Provide technical support and services for Perfumers and Scent Design.
- Set up, adjust, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in work areas.
- Participate in the research, development, or manufacturing of perfumery and sample formulas.
- Refill, maintain, and restock laboratory stock bottles and supplies.
- Provide backup support for the Applications Laboratory.
- Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformation that they undergo.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations which include percentages, fractions, and ratios.
- High Level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and work well with others in a team environment.
- Managing one's time in order to complete tasks within expected time frames.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills.
