POSITION SUMMARY
IQ Fiber is seeking a Sales Training & Field Enablement Manager responsible for building and leading IQ Fiber's sales training and onboarding function across Residential, B2B/Commercial, Community Development, and other sales channels as the organization grows. This role owns the end-to-end new-hire sales training experience — from onboarding and classroom instruction through field readiness, certification, coaching, and early productivity — to accelerate time-to-productivity, improve sales performance, increase consistency in sales execution, and reduce the training and coaching burden on sales leadership.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring significant time in the field. The successful candidate is both an engaging facilitator and an experienced sales coach who can observe sales performance firsthand, identify skill and process gaps, and translate those observations into measurable improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own and continuously improve the sales onboarding experience from new-hire start date through field readiness and initial ramp, including structured programs for Residential, B2B/Commercial, Community Development, and other sales roles.
• Train new hires on IQ Fiber products, pricing, promotions, systems, CRM, sales processes, order entry, customer experience expectations, and operational handoffs.
• Establish training milestones, assessments, and certification requirements that representatives must meet before release into the field.
• Establish a standardized 30/60/90-day development and productivity framework for new sales representatives.
• Build and maintain a scalable sales training curriculum, including facilitator guides, presentations, role plays, assessments, job aids, and product guides, that supports continued market expansion.
• Keep training content current as products, pricing, promotions, systems, compensation, and sales processes evolve, and develop refresher and skills-development programs based on field performance.
• Conduct ride-alongs, field shadowing, and real-time coaching across IQ Fiber markets, providing immediate, actionable feedback on prospecting, presentations, discovery, objection handling, closing, and order accuracy.
• Identify individual and systemic performance gaps, create targeted development plans, and share best practices across markets and sales channels.
• Develop and coach frontline sales leaders on effective coaching, equipping them with practical tools for observations, role plays, one-on-ones, and performance coaching, and establishing consistent coaching standards across markets.
• Track and report training effectiveness, including new-hire time-to-productivity, training completion, certification, conversion, and order quality, and use the data to refine programs and provide recommendations to sales leadership.
• Partner with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance/Analytics, HR, and Operations to align training with business priorities and current systems and processes.
• Provide field feedback to leadership on process friction, product and customer issues, and barriers contributing to poor performance, early attrition, or extended ramp time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in telecommunications, fiber, cable, technology, or another high-volume sales environment.
• Demonstrated experience training, coaching, or developing sales representatives.
• Experience facilitating classroom, virtual, and/or field-based training.
• Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and curriculum.
• Strong understanding of field sales, with the ability to coach sales behaviors in real customer interactions.
• Experience with CRM and sales technology platforms a plus.
• Experience designing new-hire onboarding programs and coaching frontline sales managers a plus.
• Experience supporting multiple sales channels or customer segments, and using sales performance data to identify training and development opportunities, a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability and willingness to travel to IQ Fiber markets and spend significant time in the field.
• Ability to translate business objectives and sales processes into practical behaviors for frontline representatives.
• Ability to analyze data and solve problems to identify performance gaps and measure training effectiveness.
• Ability to present and communicate effectively and build strong working relationships across Sales and corporate functions.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• New sales hires reach productivity faster, with consistent 30/60/90-day performance and improved early retention.
• Every representative completes structured onboarding and certification before release into the field, and training content stays current as products, pricing, and systems change.
• Field coaching is delivered consistently across markets, raising sales productivity, conversion, and order accuracy.
• Frontline managers adopt effective coaching practices and carry development forward after formal training ends.
• Training and onboarding effectiveness is measured and reported, with data driving continuous improvement and a reduction in recurring training and process issues.
• Sales leaders trust the training function and report a lighter training and coaching burden and high confidence in new-hire readiness.
