Overview

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Department Manager to join Art History. The Department Manager oversees department operations and staff, managing areas of academic administration, academic support, grant administration, and faculty and student services. Ensure effective and efficient office operations and the delivery of budgetary, financial, administrative, and technical services. Manage preparation of financial reports and projects for the department; develop departmental budget; manage and control expenditures. Act as administrative liaison with other school and University offices; interpret and apply University policies to plan and manage highly complex administrative matters. Administer the Fine Arts researcher collection.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant administrative experience. Must include experience supervising departmental operations, staff, and administering budgets.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education or non-profit environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to provide advice, problem solve, and interact with individuals at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
