Demand Planner

Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Demand Planner to support demand planning and forecasting activities across products, customers, and regions.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate demand signals, supporting forecasting processes, monitoring demand performance, and ensuring alignment between customer demand, supply planning, and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with data and ERP systems, and able to collaborate effectively with Sales, Supply Planning, Operations, and Finance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecast Management

  • Maintain and update customer demand forecasts in the ERP/planning system.
  • Monitor forecast consumption and compare forecasts against actual customer orders.
  • Identify demand changes, trends, and gaps between forecast and actual demand, escalating risks when needed.
  • Analyze historical demand patterns, sales trends, and business inputs to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support demand planning activities for new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life products.
  • Maintain planning parameters and master data related to demand planning.

Forecast Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track forecast performance and prepare regular forecast accuracy reporting (e.g., MAPE, Bias, forecast vs actual).
  • Generate demand waterfall reports and other operational planning reports for key customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor system-generated planning data and identify abnormal demand or planning signals.
  • Support weekly and monthly business reviews with relevant demand updates.

S&OP Support

  • Prepare demand planning inputs for the monthly S&OP process, including forecast, sales orders, historical trends, and identified risks.
  • Participate in cross-functional demand review meetings with Sales, Supply Planning, Operations, and Finance.
  • Support alignment between demand requirements and supply/capacity constraints.

Inventory & Supply Coordination

  • Work closely with supply planning and operations teams to ensure demand requirements are properly reflected in planning.
  • Support inventory monitoring activities, including finished goods inventory review.
  • Assist in pre-build or buffer stock planning when required to support customer service levels.
  • Monitor demand-related risks that may impact material availability or delivery performance.

Excess & Obsolescence Management

  • Identify inventory exposure resulting from demand changes, engineering changes, or project cancellations.
  • Support excess and obsolete inventory reporting and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain documentation and tracking of open inventory risk cases.
  • Assist Finance and Operations with inventory-related reporting and analysis.

Systems & Process Support

  • Maintain accurate demand planning data in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Support forecast uploads, system data validation, and demand planning data accuracy.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within demand planning activities.
  • Ensure planning data integrity across systems and reports.
Requirements
Fluent English
Bachelor Degree on Engineering/ Administration
+5 years experience in a demand planning job
Proficiency in advanced Excel and ERP / planning software (like SAP or Oracle)
Strong analytical skills
Cross-functional communication abilities
