Operational Risk & Return Committee Lead Consultant

This role is centered on strengthening enterprise risk oversight by analyzing, challenging, and guiding operational risk and return practices across business functions. You will support strategic risk and performance initiatives by providing insights that help leadership balance risk exposure with business outcomes. The position involves deep engagement with data, governance structures, and senior stakeholders to identify emerging risks, evaluate trends, and shape informed decision-making. You will act as a trusted advisor to frontline teams and leadership, helping embed a strong risk culture across the organization. This role also includes preparing high-level reporting and presentations for executive committees, ensuring clarity and actionable insights. It is a highly analytical and influential position where risk expertise directly contributes to enterprise resilience and strategic execution.

Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide risk and return programs by supporting strategic initiatives and governance activities.
  • Analyze operational risk data to identify trends, emerging risks, and potential business impacts.
  • Support risk reporting and preparation of materials for senior leadership and executive-level committees.
  • Challenge and review first-line risk management practices to ensure effective controls and appropriate escalation of issues.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to frontline teams, supporting risk-informed decision-making and prioritization.
  • Conduct risk and performance assessments across targeted business areas and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop insights on enterprise risk posture by linking operational results, strategies, and business challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across business units, compliance, legal, HR, and technology teams.
  • Support education and awareness efforts to strengthen risk management culture across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk, enterprise risk management, compliance, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance structures, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports and communicating complex data insights clearly.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and interpret trends, assumptions, and risk implications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive, independent mindset.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools, GRC platforms, and reporting systems is a plus.
