Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervise unit staff, plan and coordinate the daily/weekly unit schedule of the clients at Casa Grande Academy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develops, maintains, supervises, and evaluates a trauma-informed program that is safe and secure in which clients can learn cognitively, behaviorally, and emotionally.
· Through interaction and observation of staff and clients, provides supervision, role modeling, teaching, instruction, and support working directly with staff and clients.
o Recommends and supports staff with creative, helpful tools for client management and program improvement
o Directs procedures to staff in times of crisis and makes sound decisions.
o Responsible for and actively working towards running a unit that is safe, clean and has effective supervision of clients
o Follows all training and protocols in response to crisis management, procedural development and CGA philosophy
o Provides ongoing supervision to Shift Leaders and staff concerning licensing, federal, state and local law, accreditation standards, and policy and procedures pertaining to daily living and client’s overall well-being.
o Documents general and specific performance of all Milieu Staff pertaining to that Unit Supervisors dorm.
o Works directly with therapists and other departments to implement successful and effective treatment planning, scheduling, safety plans, etc.
o Ensures staff are current with all training and certifications needed for their position
o Attends daily/weekly meetings as required within the facility and communicates all information necessary to Shift Leaders and unit staff.
o All other duties as assigned
· Provides additional review of paperwork that is generated by unit staff to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and communicated to all vital departments.
o Seeks guidance in self-improvement and is receptive to feedback.
o Contributes to the clients/school outside of “normal” job responsibilities (i.e. coaching, activities etc.). Volunteers for extra duties/activities.
o Responsible for communication with client families to ensure timely updates are conducted regarding the client’s progress or regress.
o Works productively with the other Unit Supervisor & Milieu Manager. Addresses any negative agendas, receptive to feedback, shares information, supports decisions made by team, etc.
· Adheres to CGA policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA.
Requirements:- Minimum age of 21
- 3 years of experience
- Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
- Ability to obtain a Fingerprint clearance card (or have a current valid fingerprint card).
- Must pass medical exam capable of performing the essential functions of this job as listed in this job description.
- Excellent individual judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
- Emotionally and physically able to assist in physical escort and/or restraint.
- Must be able to help carry an ill, injured, or incapacitated client.
- Confidentiality and professionalism are essential.
