Job Description
The Organizational Development Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Chief People Officer and leaders across Hi-Way Paving, helping improve organizational effectiveness at the individual, team, and organizational levels.
This role combines organizational development, change management, project leadership, and executive support to help the company scale effectively while maintaining a strong culture. The successful candidate will build organizational capability, support leadership initiatives, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and drive execution of key strategic priorities.
This is a highly visible role that requires strong business acumen, relationship-building skills, and the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
What You'll Do
Organizational Development- Support leadership development, succession planning, career pathing, and talent review processes
- Partner with leaders to improve team effectiveness, employee engagement, and retention
- Help strengthen performance management and employee development practices
- Partner closely with the Chief People Officer to organize priorities, coordinate initiatives, and improve execution
- Facilitate leadership discussions, track progress, and drive accountability for key actions and deliverables
- Create visibility into organizational priorities and progress
- Support organizational growth and change initiatives
- Develop scalable processes, programs, and communication strategies
- Help leaders successfully implement and sustain organizational improvements
- Lead and coordinate strategic, cross-functional initiatives
- Develop project plans, facilitate stakeholder meetings, track deliverables, and monitor outcomes
- Support planning, budgeting, and organizational improvement efforts
- Build strong relationships across the organization
- Serve as a connector between leaders, teams, and initiatives
- Facilitate collaboration and alignment around key business priorities
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in organizational development, human resources, consulting, business operations, project management, or related disciplines
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives
- Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

About Hi-Way Paving
Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.
We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as corporate/back-office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations. We perform most of our work and services as a prime contractor but occasionally serve as a subcontractor on principal contracts with federal, state, and other governmental agencies as well as private owners.
