This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of governance, risk management, and enterprise program execution, ensuring that large-scale operational and regulatory frameworks are effectively designed, implemented, and continuously improved. You will play a key role in shaping and overseeing first-line governance programs across complex business units, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, internal risk appetite, and enterprise strategy. The position requires close collaboration with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders, including regulators. You will lead the development of integrated frameworks that strengthen control environments, improve operational efficiency, and support informed decision-making. This is a highly strategic and influential role that combines program leadership, risk expertise, and organizational transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for leading enterprise-wide experience management and governance programs, ensuring robust risk management, regulatory compliance, and effective operational execution across multiple business units.
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of first-line governance, risk, and compliance programs across complex business environments
- Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements, internal controls, and enterprise risk management frameworks
- Oversee large-scale strategic programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk appetite, and governance standards
- Partner with senior leaders to interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable business requirements and control improvements
- Monitor program effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen control environments and operational resilience
- Represent the organization in governance forums, risk committees, and regulatory discussions as required
- Lead change management initiatives, including readiness planning, stakeholder engagement, execution, and sustainment strategies
- Develop, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, and training programs to support risk awareness and compliance culture
- Provide oversight and quality assurance for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal/external examinations
- Drive stakeholder alignment across multiple business units and ensure consistent execution of governance frameworks
- Analyze complex data and risks to provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Foster a strong risk-aware culture through coaching, communication, and leadership engagement
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in governance, risk, and program management within complex financial or regulated environments, with strong leadership and analytical capabilities.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or program leadership roles
- Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expert-level program management skills with experience leading large-scale, complex initiatives
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational risk, AML, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert in internal controls and enterprise risk systems
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influence skills across senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory concepts
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments
- Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working across large, matrixed organizations
- Experience in change management, policy development, and operational governance frameworks
- Competitive base salary ranging from $105,000 to $182,900 CAD depending on experience and location
