About the Role:

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in managing and processing the organization's financial obligations efficiently and accurately. This position ensures that all vendor invoices are reviewed, verified, and processed in a timely manner to maintain strong supplier relationships and uphold the company’s financial integrity. The specialist will be responsible for reconciling accounts payable transactions and maintaining accurate records within the general ledger system. By collaborating with internal departments and external vendors, the role supports smooth financial operations and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency with accounting software, specifically JD Edwards or equivalent ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and general ledger processes.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience with advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with journal entry preparation and month-end closing procedures.
• Previous experience working in a corporate finance or accounting department.
• Certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) or similar.

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests in accordance with company policies.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities within the accounting software and general ledger.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to address invoice inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.
• Ensure all payments are processed before deadlines to avoid late fees and maintain vendor relationships.
• Utilize JD Edwards and Microsoft Office Word to document and track accounts payable processes.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
