Join the Highlands Ranch Metro District as a Front Desk Registration Clerk at the Highlands Ranch Senior Center — a fun, welcoming space where every shift makes a difference.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Front Desk Registration Clerk who is eager to make a positive impact. If you're ready to be part of a friendly and dedicated community, we want you to apply!

In conjunction with senior center volunteers, the clerk will warmly greet and welcome guests, and register patrons for activities, memberships and facility day passes. They will also train members and volunteers on the use of MySeniorCenter kiosk, as well as collect revenue, operate the computer systems, and track facility attendance. Additionally, the clerk will respond to inquiries professionally, both in person and via telephone, while also monitoring the safety and well-being of facility patrons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Courteously and promptly greet and/or direct patrons in person or via telephone.Manage monetary transactions including daily passes or memberships, activity registrations, and facility rentals. Operate and balance cash drawer.Register customers for a wide variety of activities and memberships, over the phone and in person, utilizing a specialized registration software. Provide input regarding system upgrades, generate various reports. Manage cancellations, wait lists, and refunds/credits.Assist senior center members with using MyActiveCenter kiosk.Maintain and file records and reports such as inventory, activity and cash reports.Assist with facility tours for new and potential members.Respond to customer inquiries with knowledge and tact. Determine customers' needs, answer questions and provide information for all activities and programs.Assist patrons or staff in emergency situations as outlined in the SOPPs.Provide impeccable customer service to everyone who comes into the senior center; maintain professional and compassionate attitude, especially in busy/chaotic situations; introduce potential new members to programs and services, provide referrals if necessary.Observe, follow and enforce established policies and procedures in the daily conduct of the job.Plan and arrange work schedule and establish priorities to complete scheduled assigned work within parameters assigned by the supervisor.Perform all other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum one year of experience with reception duties and customer service.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to carry out instructions and interact tactfully with people.Must have an affinity for working with older adults.Understand and follow verbal and written directions. Ability to read, understand, and comply with written instructions for the setting up of rooms and use of equipment and supplies.Ability to execute good judgment and utilize problem solving skills when necessary.May experience added stress and pressure in situations of an emergency or during busy times in the facility with multiple functions being required at one time.Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, prioritize the tasks, and complete them in a timely fashion.Ability to work independently and determine what tasks must be completed.Proficient in computer skills and ability to learn MySeniorCenter/MyActiveCenter software.Must be dependable and reliable.Must have the ability to meet and deal with the public effectively and be able to direct others, including volunteers, appropriately.Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations.CPR/AED/First Aid, and Crowd Control certification required within 3 months of hire.Capable of deciphering instructions, schedules, emergency plans, and taking action to complete them correctly and in a timely fashion.Other added pressures may be experienced during situations with difficult customers, or program conflicts with participants not cooperatingThink independently and determine what tasks must be completed.Ability to manage time, multitask, and use critical thinking skills to complete assignments.Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
Work Schedule

Work schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 - 8:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Supervision Received

Works under the general supervision of the Senior Services Manager. Indirect supervision from the Guest Services and Volunteer Coordinator.

Tools And Equipment Used

Personal computer, Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, multi-function printer/copier/scanner, telephone, vacuum cleaner, and other general office, cleaning or kitchen equipment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and cleaning chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when working during an event.
