As a Metal Processor at Beacon Recycling's Muskegon facility, you'll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, sorting, grading, processing, and baling non-ferrous metals. You'll learn to identify different metal grades, separate materials according to customer specifications, operate balers and material handling equipment, and help maximize the value of materials through accurate processing and attention to detail. Your day may include inspecting incoming loads, sorting and upgrading material, removing contaminants, operating industrial equipment, staging finished products for shipment, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. This role requires focus, physical stamina, and a commitment to producing quality work every day.

Role: Metal Processor (Receiving, Grading, Processing & Baling)

Experience: Previous recycling, manufacturing, warehouse, production, or materials handling experience preferred

Core Focus: Material grading, quality control, processing efficiency, and safety

Key Skills: Attention to detail, reliability, organization, safety awareness, problem solving

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment
• Ability to learn metal grades and material specifications
• Basic math and communication skills
• Ability to follow established procedures and safety standards

Physical Requirements:
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
• Standing and walking throughout the shift
• Bending, reaching, sorting, and material handling activities
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
