This role plays a key part in strengthening the global visibility and credibility of academic journals through high-quality indexing processes. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end indexing workflows, ensuring journals meet the stringent requirements of major indexing databases and maintaining alignment with research integrity standards. The position requires close collaboration with editorial, production, legal, and research integrity teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across publishing operations. You will also analyze indexing requirements, provide data-driven insights, and help shape strategies that improve journal discoverability and performance. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will support internal teams and external stakeholders on indexing-related matters. This is a highly detail-oriented and cross-functional role suited for someone passionate about scholarly publishing, data quality, and research impact.
- Oversee end-to-end journal indexing processes, ensuring accurate submission and maintenance of journal records across indexing platforms and services.
- Develop and refine structured workflows that support high-quality indexing applications and compliance with external indexing requirements.
- Produce data-driven insights on journal performance and indexing eligibility to support editorial and research integrity decision-making.
- Serve as the primary internal subject matter expert for indexing-related queries and guidance across the organization.
- Liaise with external indexing services and maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders including editorial, production, and legal teams.
- Deliver training, guidance, and documentation to support editors and internal teams in understanding indexing requirements.
- Continuously identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to enhancements in indexing strategy and execution.
- Strong experience in scholarly publishing, research integrity, or bibliometrics within academic or journal publishing environments.
- Deep understanding of indexing databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed/MEDLINE, including their evaluation and selection criteria.
- Proven ability to analyze citation data and apply bibliometric insights to improve journal visibility and performance.
- Strong data analysis and data visualization skills using standard analytical tools and software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex indexing and research concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment.
