Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Department: Development

Location: Points of Light is a remote-first organization. Any U.S. location based in the Eastern or Central time zone in a market with a major airport. Washington, DC preferred.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships, will play a key role in supporting Points of Light’s corporate partnership strategy. They drive new business efforts, build and maintain relationships, and help secure funding from key strategic corporations and corporate foundations while working collaboratively across departments. This position supports the organization’s operational and programmatic growth, contributing to the success of the mission to ignite a new spirit of service and civic engagement across the world.

Primary responsibilities of the Corporate Partnership Manager include managing a portfolio of assigned accounts with a revenue goal of $250,000 - $1,500,000. The Manager will develop and execute partnership strategies, cultivate and steward corporate donors, negotiate sponsorship and grants, and monitor partner deliverables.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will also support team and cross-functional operations, including CRM (Salesforce) and project management (Asana) support, writing and submission of grant applications and grant reports, liaising internally to support account management / needs, supporting tracking of team tasks, deadlines, and schedules, and driving innovative ways to support team efficiencies and operations.

Position Functions and Responsibilities Include:

Fundraising and Partnership Management:

  • Portfolio Management: Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of partners. Secure four- to six-figure contributions and develop customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for each in a portfolio of $250,000 - $1.5M annually, inclusive of both new business and renewals across philanthropic giving, fee-for-service revenue, and event sponsorships.
  • Revenue Reporting: Regularly track and update moves management activities and status of revenue generated to goal, both within Salesforce and as supportive narrative to leadership.
  • Proposal Preparation and Negotiation: Participate in prospect research, outreach, and proposal submission. Develop and collaborate on proposals, presentations, and statements of work to solicit financial support.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with corporate and corporate foundation representatives, including travel, visits, and annual strategic planning sessions.
  • Cultivation: Develop engagement and growth plans for key strategic partners to establish areas of interests and drive follow-up throughout the cultivation cycle.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent Points of Light at both internal and external events, staying informed about trends and networking opportunities.
  • Stay Informed: Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of corporate giving interests, staff, industry trends, and partner and prospect news and priorities.

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Culture: Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.
  • Revenue Accountability: Own and drive progress toward assigned revenue targets, including pipeline development, forecasting, moves management discipline, proposal strategy, renewal planning, and timely escalation of risks or barriers.
  • Funding Opportunities: Identify compelling funding opportunities to attract and retain corporate partners. Support or lead the fundraising strategy and pipeline development for program/project areas as assigned.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Teams: Support cross-functional efforts, partnering with other departments (such as Programs, Network, MarComm, and Finance) to deliver on project plans, donor reports, and milestones unique to each donor account.
  • Customized Concepts: Work cross-functionally to develop innovative, customized concepts for prospective partners. Align a company’s business objectives with Points of Light’s priorities.
  • Cross-Departmental Process Improvement: Partner with Director and internal teams to build, improve, and refine processes, workflows, tools, and communication practices that increase efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and pain points, support innovation, and strengthen the partner experience.

Team Operations Support:

  • CRM and Project Management Support: Support team use of Salesforce, Asana, and other shared systems by helping maintain accurate records, update project timelines, track next steps, organize account activity, and ensure key information is accessible and current.
  • Grant Applications and Reports: Draft, coordinate information-gathering, and support the submission of corporate grant applications, sponsorship materials, partner reports, and other written materials needed to secure, steward, and renew corporate funding.
  • Account Management Support: Liaise with internal teams to help move partner work forward, including gathering information, tracking deliverables, coordinating follow-up, and supporting account needs across Programs, Network, MarComm, Finance, Revenue Enablement, and other departments.
  • Team Workflow and Process Support: Help identify, build, and improve team processes, templates, trackers, and workflows that increase efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, strengthen consistency, and support more effective partner management.
  • Operational Problem-Solving: Proactively surface gaps, pain points, and opportunities for improvement in team operations, and help develop practical solutions that support revenue generation, partner experience, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Team Task Management: Support tracking, logging, reminders, and follow-up for team tasks, calendars, and schedules.
  • Special Projects: Lead or support special projects that strengthen Corporate Partnerships operations, team coordination, revenue tracking, proposal development, stewardship, and overall Development team effectiveness.

Core Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage corporate partner and prospect relationships, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, renewal planning, and day-to-day account management.
  • Experience supporting or securing four- to six-figure corporate gifts, grants, sponsorships, or fee-for-service partnerships, with an understanding of how to move opportunities from research and outreach through proposal, negotiation, close, and stewardship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft compelling proposals, grant applications, donor reports, presentations, partner correspondence, and internal briefing materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, deliverables, and internal stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience using CRM, project management, or fundraising systems, preferably Salesforce and Asana, to track activity, manage pipeline, support moves management, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to conduct prospect and partner research, synthesize information quickly, and translate insights into cultivation strategies, proposals, briefing materials, and partner-facing concepts.
  • Collaborative working style, with experience partnering across departments such as Programs, Network, MarComm, Finance, Revenue Enablement, and other teams to move partner work forward.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort supporting budgets, proposals, statements of work, partner reports, and other materials that require accuracy, clarity, and alignment across teams.
  • Capability to identify process gaps, surface operational pain points, and contribute practical solutions that improve team efficiency, communication, accountability, and partner experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship savvy, with the ability to build trust with corporate partners, internal colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High degree of personal initiative, accountability, and follow-through, with the desire and ability to meet assigned revenue goals and support broader team success.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, balancing proactive relationship management with responsive internal and partner needs.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented approach; commitment to continuous improvement, strong work ethic, and work grounded in honesty and integrity.
  • Ability work both independently and collaboratively, including preparing materials, managing assignments, participating in partner meetings, and representing Points of Light externally when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or education / experience equivalency.
  • 3-5 years of experience with demonstrated success in securing philanthropic gifts, fee-for service contracts, and sponsorships.
  • Strong background in project management and portfolio discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Salesforce.
  • Able and willing to travel up to 20%.
