Guest Services & Community Engagement Associate

Position Summary

The Guest Services & Community Engagement Associate serves as a welcoming presence at the front lobby of UConn Health Waterbury, helping visitors, patients, and employees find their way and feel at home. In addition to concierge responsibilities, the Associate provides flexible project support across the organization, patient and visitor experience, and contributes to employee engagement initiatives through regular rounding. The schedule allows flexibility so the Associate can support projects and tasks where they are needed most. This role reflects our commitment to inclusive hiring, exceptional service, and a connected workplace culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors at the front lobby with warmth and professionalism, providing directions to elevators, departments, and destinations throughout the building
  • Conduct regular rounding with employees across departments to support engagement initiatives
  • Support Patient Experience by preparing and delivering birthday and seasonal holiday cards to patients and employees
  • Assist with special projects as assigned, such as hand hygiene auditing, quality improvement support, and organizing the community resource closet and nursing floor closets
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational initiatives
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to connect with people at all levels of the organization
  • Well organized and highly detail oriented
  • Dependable, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to service
  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with visitors, patients, and employees
  • Completion of the Project SEARCH program or equivalent workplace training/experience preferred
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods while rounding and greeting visitors
  • Work is performed in a hospital lobby and general office environment
