We are looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive sales growth by developing new customers, expanding existing customer relationships, and helping our customers successfully sell Midland products.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on sales leadership position. The Regional Sales Manager will spend significant time in the field working alongside Territory Managers and meeting directly with key customers. Extensive travel is required, including overnight travel approximately 80% of the time. Travel schedules may vary from week to week and may occasionally require little or no advance notice. This is not a desk-based management position.
Summary:
The primary function of this position is the responsibility of working with the branch’s sales team to grow the branch’s sales volume. This is to be done by adding new customers, increasing existing customers, and by improving our customers’ ability to sell our products.
Essential Duties:
Lead & Develop the Sales Team
- Recruit, hire, coach, motivate, and develop high-performing Territory Managers.
- Establish clear sales expectations and hold team members accountable for achieving sales goals.
- Meet regularly with Territory Managers to review results, establish weekly priorities, and develop action plans.
- Coach Territory Managers on selling behaviors, customer development, time management, and sales productivity.
- Address performance deficiencies and take appropriate action when established sales goals are not met.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new customers and grow existing business.
- Work alongside Territory Managers or personally engage with customers when needed to close opportunities and drive growth.
- Create, implement, and maintain territory plans aligned with sales goals and company profitability expectations.
- Identify opportunities to convert new customers and increase orders from existing customers.
- Close and grow sales through professional communication and relationship building.
- Present Midland products and services, clearly communicating their features, benefits, and value.
- Introduce, demonstrate, and train customers on new products and services.
- Present and educate customers, contractors, architects, and other buying influencers.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and competitive strategies.
- Manage territory account lists and determine appropriate customer contact frequency.
- Review and follow up on large-dollar quotes and opportunities as needed.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Regularly meet with top customers to strengthen relationships, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Attend trade shows, contractor events, parade homes, and other customer functions.
- Understand customer needs and assist with problem-solving, product selection, pricing, and point-of-sale materials.
- Identify and resolve customer concerns, including product or service issues, customer complaints, and aged receivables.
- Assist with warranty concerns as needed.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure customer needs are addressed and relationships remain strong.
- Represent Midland professionally and ethically in all customer and business interactions.
- Lead by example through strong work ethic, productivity, honesty, accountability, and performance.
- Build a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the sales team and across the company.
- Serve as a visible leader who is focused on the success of the team, customers, and company.
- Strong sales leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop high-performing sales professionals.

- Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license and MVR that meets company insurance requirements.
High School or GED required, and 3-5 years of relevant sales and related industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully to perform the essential responsibilities
and duties as listed above.

This position operates in multiple areas: professional office environment, has frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment as well as construction and worksites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, heat, and stress.
Travel:
This position requires a flexible schedule due to extensive travel. Requires overnight travel 80% of the time.
