This is a fully remote opportunity for a hands-on Workday professional supporting a large and complex HR technology environment.
You will own configuration, enhancement, optimization, and governance activities across Workday and related HR systems.
The role combines technical configuration expertise with business partnership, translating HR requirements into scalable and effective system solutions.
You will work across areas such as business processes, security, reporting, calculated fields, and Workday Payroll.
Your work will directly contribute to reliable HR operations, data integrity, compliance, and a positive experience for employees and HR stakeholders.
You’ll collaborate closely with HR, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders while balancing enhancements, projects, and production support.
This role is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving HR technology.
- Design, configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, security, notifications, and other tenant configurations.
- Serve as a Workday subject matter expert and advise HR business partners and stakeholders on functionality, configuration approaches, and process design.
- Lead configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities for Workday enhancements, releases, and module implementations.
- Support Workday Payroll for Canada, alongside other relevant functional areas such as Absence and Time Tracking.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical and configuration issues escalated from the support team.
- Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards to support operational and business requirements.
- Perform data audits and validation activities to maintain HR data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into effective Workday configurations and process improvements.
- Partner with HR, IT, external vendors, and consultants to resolve technical challenges and deliver system initiatives.
- Document system processes, workflows, configurations, and user procedures to support consistent system administration and knowledge sharing.
- Manage multiple concurrent enhancements, projects, and production-support activities while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.
- Professional experience working full-time in a Workday analyst or configuration role within a large organization using Workday.
- Hands-on Workday configuration experience in one or more functional areas, particularly Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Workday business processes, condition rules, notifications, reports, calculated fields, and security.
- Experience supporting Workday Payroll for Canada is strongly desired.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate complex business needs into scalable system solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale Workday environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, combined with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, enhancements, and production-support responsibilities simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with Excel and HR reporting tools for data analysis and validation.
- Collaborative, customer-focused approach when working with HR teams, IT professionals, vendors, and consultants.
- Experience supporting a large, distributed, or multi-state organization is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Direct Workday configuration experience is essential; candidates whose background is primarily limited to end-user support, ticket management, reporting, or HR administration may not have the technical depth required for this position.
- Availability to work East Coast hours, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Competitive compensation, with an estimated range of $5,608.34–$8,975.00 per month, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.
